Restored Flour Mill, Tempe
By dividing the site itself into it’s three main components (flour mill, hiking trail, existing parking lot) I established the main areas of traffic and the main attraction as the trail entrance. The center concrete chip is representative of the trail entrance whereas the two half circles represent the parking lot and mill, with the openings faced towards the traffic of visitors: Mill avenue traffic towards the Mill as an attraction and the hikers headed towards the existing parking lot as they complete their hike. The wooden slits are representing the possible play of elevation within the site to tie it together as an interactive design alongside A-Mountain.
